Ophthalmology includes sub-specialities which deals with certain diseases with abnormality of refraction caused by abnormal shape of the eye such as myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia as well as corneal disease, cataract, glaucoma, retina and vitreous disease, strabismus.

Ophthalmology's representative diseases are corneal disease, cataract, glaucoma, retina and vitreous disease, Strabismus and others. Moreover diseases caused by abnormal shape of the eye such as myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia are also represented.
01.Cataract Clinic
Cataract is a clouding of lens in one's eye. Since cataract is one of an aging process, it can happen to anyone. (Cataracts are very common in older people). And it can also happen by trauma and inheritance. Main treatment is surgery.

02.Retina clinic
Retinal diseases specifically affect the retina ? a layer of tissue at the back of the eye that is responsible for vision. These diseases can affect the retina, the macula (area of central vision), or the fovea at the center of the macula. Many retinal diseases share common symptoms and treatments, but each has unique characteristics.

- Retinal detachment _ A serious eye disease that requires prompt treatment. It is a disorder of the eye in
which the retina peels away from its underlying layer of support tissue.

- Diabetic retinopathy _ A medical term for damage to the tiny blood vessels that nourish the retina, and the
  complications diabetes causes.

- Epiretinal membrane _ Also known as macular pucker, epiretinal membrane is scar tissue-like membrane
that grows on the macula and causes vision problems

- Macular hole _ A macular hole is a small break in the macula, located in the center of the eye's
light-sensitive tissue called the retina. A macular hole can cause blurred and distorted central vision.

- Age-related macular degeneration _ A medical condition usually of older adults which results in a loss
of vision in the center of the visual field because of damage to the retina. It occurs in ¡°dry¡± and ¡°wet¡± forms.

- Retinopathy of prematurity _ A disease of the eye that affects prematurely born babies. It is thought to be
caused by disorganized growth of retinal blood vessels which may result in scarring and retinal detachment.

People with retinal diseases experience an array of symptoms, from specks floating in their vision to blurred or
lost vision. Many retinal diseases can cause these symptoms, which can be associated with diabetes,
trauma to the eye, or family history. To make a diagnosis, an ophthalmologist conducts a thorough eye
examination, followed by other tests to confirm the diagnosis or determine the extent of existing damage.
The goal of most retinal disease treatments is to preserve eyesight and slow disease progression.

03.Refractive surgery Clinic
Correction of refractive error is performed to patients over 18 years of age where growth has stopped, have enough corneal thickness and have no other systemic or ophthalmological diseases other than myopia or astigmatism.
There are many different types of operations such as LASIK, LASEK, and Excimer laser and the choice of the operation is made by considering preoperative evaluation, corneal thickness, pupil size, life qualities and etc.

04.Strabismus Clinic
Intermittent exotropia is the most common strabismus seen in Korea. It is disease where the eye occasionally turns towards the outside. Because the eye does not always deviate outwards and has it's corrected periods, the eyes have a chance to develop binocular function, and less chance to develop amblyopia. However with more time turned towards the outside there are more chance to develop amblyopia binocular function treatment there are either operative or medical options.
Since early detection for Strabismus or amblyopia is crucial for complete treatment, Early ophthalmological screening is the most important thing and to be performed. Pediatric evaluation, amblyopia evaluation, strabismus evaluation and other evaluations are being performed.

05.Glaucoma evaluation
Glaucoma is a neurodegenerative disease of the optic nerve that presents optic nerve damage and eventual visual field loss.
Early detection of optic nerve thinning before the visual field defects by HRT II, OCT3 and routine visual field examination

06.Oculoplastic clinic
As a clinic which is in charge of the plastic surgery of eyes, it is a specific department that keeps the shape of eyes beautiful as well as helps the eyes function well. This department deals with blepharoplasty, ptosis, any diseases of picking eyes such as entropion and epiblepharon, thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy, the revision of evicerated eye, lacrimal related diseases, orbital tumor, orbital fracture, orbital trauma, eyelid spasm and so on.

07.Laser Clinic
- Panretinal Photocoagulation: Diabetic retinopathy
- Argon laser iridotomy: Acute angle closure glaucoma
- Argon laser trabeculoplasty: Chronic open angle glaucoma
- YAG laser : After cataract
