The government of Korea designates and operates medical institutions with advanced capacity as Regional Cardio-Cerebrovascular Disease Centers by dividing the country into 11 regions, in order to increase the survival rate of emergency cardio-cerebrovascular disease patients such as stroke and myocardial infarction patients. Among them is the Incheon Regional Cardio-Cerebrovascular Disease Center operated by Inha University Hospital, providing the best medical service through a multidisciplinary care system with the Department of Cardiology and Department of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery, Department of Neurology, Department of Neurosurgery, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, and Department of Preventive Management.
Inha University Hospital Cardiovascular Center operates an emergency intervention procedure team so that an intervention procedure can be done for acute myocardial infarction patients within 90 minutes of their arrival to the hospital. It has revascularized all acute myocardial infarction patients within 90 minutes from 2012 to 2018, thereby earning designation as a 1st Class Medical Institution for Acute Myocardial Infarction by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service.
