Clinical Pharmacology

Introduction

Clinical pharmacology is the field focused on the scientific evaluation of drugs in humans and aims for appropriate pharmacotherapy tailored to individual conditions. The Clinical Pharmacology department provides drug information, analytical services, consultation for appropriate pharmacotherapy, clinical trials, and pharmacovigilance services, and also addresses clinical toxicology related to drug and poison exposures.

 

Poison Control Center Operations
 
With advanced industrialization, exposure to various toxic substances has increased, and as drug therapies have evolved, many new medications have been developed and used, resulting in frequent cases of acute drug poisoning and serious side effects from inappropriate drug use.
 
Inha University Hospital’s Poison Control Center plays a vital role in addressing these community health issues and is the first center in Korea specializing in treating patients with poisonings and contributing to the advancement of the domestic field of clinical toxicology.
