The Diabetes Endocrinology Center delivers care for all endocrinologic and metabolic disorders including diabetes, thyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, obesity, dsylipidemia and metabolic syndrome. The incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus is growing nationwide and worldwide making this a top public health problem. The center takes an active role in using innovative treatments and educating the public on how to prevent and control this lifelong disease. A multi-disciplinary team consisting of diabetologists, diabetes nurse educators, dietitians and a sports medicine specialist provide medical management of referred patients who are at risk from developing diabetic complications from diabetes, those who require education and review of management. Consultations for diabetic complications are systemized with joint effort of specialized staffs in each field. Through an individualized care system, we help and support the patients to achieve optimal health. The patients are periodically examined for diabetic retinopathy, neuropathy, and nephropathy and atherosclerosis
