Emergency Medicine

Introduction

The Emergency Medicine department at Inha University Hospital is staffed 24/7 by specialists and residents who are dedicated to providing prompt examinations and expert treatment for severe emergencies and trauma.

Recognizing the importance of emergency care from pre-hospital stages to transfer and emergency treatment, our department collaborates with emergency medical system members, including fire departments, health centers, and Incheon airport medical centers.

As a regional emergency center, Inha University Hospital is equipped with the latest equipment and facilities, including a resuscitation room for patients requiring cardiopulmonary resuscitation, an isolation area for infectious patients at the hospital entrance, an emergency operating room, an emergency imaging room, and an emergency intensive care unit.

The Emergency Medicine department manages Inha University Hospital’s DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team) and leads disaster response and training.

We also have a triage area at the emergency entrance to categorize patients based on severity and provide emergency resuscitation for cardiac arrest and high-risk patients.

With extensive experience in treating toxicological emergencies, we strive to ensure professional care through rapid collaboration with supporting departments.

We maintain a 24/7 communication system with the Central Emergency Medical Center and regional 119 centers, coordinating care with hospitals in the region and ensuring optimal emergency treatment throughout patient transfer and referral.
