Introduction
Obstetrics is a branch of medicine that deals with normal and abnormal conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
Political, social and cultural factors also influence reproduction to preserve the species, so broadly speaking, all areas related to human societal prosperity are considered under obstetrics.
The goal of obstetrics is to manage the health of pregnant women and fetuses to ensure the best possible health outcomes for both.
At Inha University Hospital, we are particulary attentive to high-risk pregnancies that require special care, such as preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction,
gestational diabetes, delayed pregnancy, advanced maternal age and rcurrent miscarriages. We utilize early diagnosis and advanced fetal monitoring devices (such as Doppler and prenatal ultrasound) and the latest testing facilities to ensure the well-being of both the mother and the fetus. Additionally, to prevent congenital anomalies during the early and mid-stages of pregnancy, we conduct prenatal tests including blood tests, chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis.
